Technical Data

Development (Agile Scrum) of an IoT Platform for all the current and future IoT Solutions from Essity.

The platform is based on newest Microsoft Azure IoT technologies and was developed in close co-operation with Microsoft (Azure Digital Twins). Essity has been recognised by MS as a leading IoT Solution provider for its current solutions “TORK EasyCube” and “TENA Identifi”; much of Essity’s experience and many real use-cases were leveraged in the development of MS Azure Digital Twins.

Technical Data

Development (Agile Scrum) of a new version of the IoT Solution “TORK EasyCube” based on new technologies, Azure.

The current version was based on older technologies and in-house servers. The new version is designed to leverage all the functionality of the new Essity IoT Platform (Device Management, Data Ingest, Business Logic, Analysis, etc), and should be based completely on Azure Cloud infrastructure. Scope includes Web Front-End for Computers, Tablets and Phones, and Azure Back-End. Native (iOS) App for installation and provisioning of sensors.

Development (Agile Scrum) of a new IoT Solution “TENA Lucy” for sensor-based wetness detection of Incontinence diapers in “Home-Care” scenario (caring for loved ones at home). 

The solution is designed to leverage all the functionality of the new Essity IoT Platform (Device Management, Data Ingest, Business Logic, Analysis, etc), and is based completely on Azure Cloud infrastructure. Native App (iOS, Android) for End Users (Care-givers), Azure Back-End.

Technical data

Development of a new IoT Solution for improving the hand-wiping behaviour in hospitals (“Fusion”).

Precise monitoring of the movements of hospital staff combined with data from sensors in soap dispensers enables the calculation of a “Compliance Level” (Frequency of washing hands before and after tending to individual patients). High-performance Edge computing (Docker), Python logic and data back-end on Azure, Front-Ends and & Push Notification for displaying compliance results.

Transformation of complete enterprise (global, 40,000 employees) to O365, Change Management


Migration from MS Office 2010 including Outlook to MS O365 (cloud); migration of on-premise Exchange Servers to MS Cloud Exchange; migration of on-premise Sharepoint to Sharepoint Online; migration of on-premise Skype to hybrid Skype and Teams: separation of the SCA Hygiene and SCA Forest domains; migration from AirWatch to MS InTunes for mobile devices; migration of on-premise File Servers to MS OneDrive; upgrade of global network; introduction of meeting management solution; introduction of MS Teams; relaunch of the company intranet with new version based on Sharepoint Online; consolidation of licences for MS Visio and MS Project; large-scale testing of all interfaces e.g. to SAP, CRM including necessary upgrades to other solutions and creation of necessary roadmaps; set-up of an “Evergreen” team and “Evergreen” processes.

Planning and performing very wide Change Management including development of company-specific material, webinars, documentation, roadshows, user support.

Technical data

Development (Agile Scrum) of a Product Information System (PIM) for TENA websites globally, based on Hybris PIM 3.0 (now SAP Product Content Hub).

Customising, Coding and Workflow of PIM instance; development of custom ABAP programs for daily provisioning of all relevant data from SAP MM and SAP SD; modelling of various Product Finder scenarios, in order to create optimal Finder strategy; development of a content review and translation tools (initially Excel-based, then web); integration with DAM system; adaption of existing websites (EPI-based) to leverage PIM-based data; creation of automated interface to external translation bureau including synchronisation of Translation Memories; rollout to 35 countries (websites).

Development (Agile Scrum) of a new CRM solution for TORK and TENA  business divisions (Europe and North America, ca. 25 countries) based on MS Dynamics CRM.

Setup of on-premise infrastructure and DevOps; customising and coding of Dynamics CRM; definition of CRM templates and data model, especially regarding data sharing and harmonisation between business divisions; creation of interfaces to and from SAP (MM, CM, SD, BW, BO); definition of BO reports; development of Excel integration for CRM-based Offer generation; development of deployment package for User PCs (Outlook Add-In, SQL-database); data matching and cleaning to merge the two independent predecessor databases; data load.
